Hello there!
My name is Birdie. My name on the site is Rattus, so you can call me Rattus, Birdie, really whatever you want. I'm known as Mutant on a few other sites around.
I'm 19 years old, and I live in Connecticut. I'm attending college in New Hampshire, studying fine arts photography and creative writing. I've been role playing for 7 years now, I think, at least... for about 5 of those I've done Warriors. It's sort of my vice, I guess. Everyone else at art school has their cigarettes and liquor; I have my talking cat books. So whatever works, haha.
I have a hamster named Princess Pistol and two dogs. One is a six year old golden retriever named Griffin, and he's obsessed with the television. He seriously injured his back legs a little over a year ago and they'll probably never completely heal; he has sentenced himself to early arthritis by chasing a rabbit too hard and tearing his ACLs. He's a happy boy, though, and he gets all of the medications and snuggles that he needs. The other one is Dexter. We think he's about a year and a half old, but we're not sure. He was a rescue dog- part German Shepard, part Saint Bernard, and part pit bull. We expected him to be huge, but he got the pit bull's size- he's only around 70lbs. Griffin is actually bigger than him. We got Dexter a few months after the death of my best childhood friend, my old dog Scooby, also a rescue and also partially German Shepard and pit bull. He had black lab in him as well; he lived to 15, and for all 15 years he was a spectacular dog beyond what words can describe. It's been over a year since he died, but I still miss him deeply.
I've always loved rodents, hence the name. I have had hamsters and guinea pigs since first grade, and I wait impatiently for the day when the circumstances will be right for me to get pet rats. They're my favorite.
I'm actually allergic to cats, so I can't own them. I do love them, though. They don't love me; I'm too touchy, most cats don't like excessive snuggling.
My god, that is probably enough about my pets or lack thereof. I can talk for a really long time about my animals, haha.
Things I like: Skyrim, Game of Thrones, Magic: The Gathering, Harry Potter, Sherlock, Bright Eyes, The Decemberists, Emilie Autumn, steampunk culture, gothic culture, tattoos, skulls/bones, Victorian history, Broadway, and a lot more things. I like a lot of things.
